In the forest

In the middle of the night, a caravan goes up in flames in the forest near Ruppertshain. A body is recovered from the wreckage. Oliver von Bodenstein and Pia Sander are investigating arson – and soon also murder. Shortly thereafter, an elderly woman is murdered in a hospice. Bodenstein is shaken; he had known the woman since childhood. The investigation leads Pia and him into the past, to the summer of 1972, when Bodenstein's best friend disappeared without a trace. A childhood trauma he never overcame – and for many in Ruppertshain, an old story best left untouched. But it doesn't end with two dead...
