Because none of the suitors who sought her hand appealed to her - she was not only quite beautiful but also rather proud - Princess Henriette-Rosalinde-Audora came up with the unusual idea of allowing herself to be kidnapped by a monster. When the king announced that whoever rescued his daughter would receive her as a wife along with half the kingdom, the bravest and most handsome princes would come from afar. However, the monster - presumably a vegetarian - was not at all interested in the princess, but only in the delicious chocolates she had with her. Therefore, Henriette-Rosalinde-Audora had to more or less kidnap herself if her plan was to succeed.
