Elos von Bergen had actually hung up his tracking hat since a case involving a vengeful night mage nearly cost him and his children, Ada and Naru, their lives. That’s why the three of them have been living in Friedhofen, the sleepiest village in the entire kingdom, for several years now. There, Elos works – much to the dismay of his children, who find the place unbearably boring – on the manuscript of his twenty-volume memoirs. But then, a mysterious murder occurs right in Friedhofen, drawing the trailfinder into the most complicated case of his life.
