Heidi's apprentice and wandering years

Little Heidi is happy with her grandfather on the mountain pasture. During the day she romps with her boyfriend, the Geissenpeter, and his goats across the meadows and in the evening she climbs into her fragrant hay bed. When Heidi is brought to Frankfurt by her aunt, the carefree days are over. As a companion of the sick Klara, Heidi is to be introduced to the better circles. But she is plagued by homesickness for the mountain pasture. Hannelore Hoger, who plays the role of Grandmama Sesemann in the new film adaptation, reads Heidi's story lovingly and with a lot of heart.

Johanna Spyri, born in 1827, grew up in a large family in the country, was a private teacher and moved to Zurich because of her marriage. The Swiss writer wrote many stories and novels for children and young people; the figure of her 'Heidi' became world famous. The author died in 1901.
