The Silika coating is a high quality varnish containing tiny particles, once applied it gives the flight a completely unique look and feel. Similar to sandpaper, the surface of the flight is rough. When thrown, the coating reduces the speed of the dart in flight and stabilises the flight path of the dart. Another important feature of silica flights is their durability. Adding the silica coating significantly increases the strength of the flights, so they are less damaged and last longer than normal flights.
