For the happily married, successful pianist Kate, everything changes abruptly when she receives the diagnosis of ALS. From now on reliant on help, she hires the chaotic Bec from a pool of highly qualified applicants for the caregiving position. With her straightforward and fresh approach, Bec seems to be a poor fit for Kate's well-ordered world. However, Kate trusts her instincts and stands her ground against her husband, who cannot understand her decision. As it turns out, she is right to do so, as Bec proves to be not only a humorous and unconventional caregiver but also helps Kate discover entirely new sides of herself. The two very different women quickly become best friends.
