Similar to the classic pegboard game, the colorful beads are placed on the pegboard, either following a template or based on personal ideas. Until they are fused with an iron, the designs can be changed repeatedly. Engaging with Hama iron beads promotes concentration and fine motor skills, as well as the recognition of colors and shapes. The bead size is midi (5 mm) and the beads are in solid colors. Hama is a perfect, user-friendly system that allows a child's creativity to develop playfully. Designing your own motifs and fixing them by ironing is the most well-known way to play with Hama beads.

The Hama midi iron beads are suitable for children aged 5 and up. They have a diameter of 5 mm. The pegboards are reusable and compatible with iron beads from other manufacturers. The beads are placed on the board, then covered with ironing paper and fused with an iron. Ironing should be done by an adult. After cooling, the design can be removed from the pegboard.
