One morning, the shepherd George Glenn is found dead in the grass, nailed to the ground by a spade. Who could have killed the old shepherd? Miss Maple, the cleverest sheep in the flock and perhaps even in the world, begins to take an interest in the case. Fortunately, George had read crime novels to the sheep, so she is not entirely unprepared for the investigative challenge. With sheep logic, they follow the trail of the culprit – when they’re not grazing or terrified to death.
