Spring in Neuharlingersiel: During a painting course at Steffenshof, the participants introduce their favorite painting as a welcome gesture. Karin Müller brings along a painting from her grandmother's household that suspiciously resembles a Van Gogh. A copy? After all, Karin's grandmother was not an art collector, and certainly not wealthy. Nevertheless, fellow participant Conrad is convinced it's authentic. But before he can show the painting to an expert, Karin is dead and the painting has vanished. Rudi, Henner, and Rosa refuse to believe it's just a coincidence, and they are right: Ketamine is found in Karin's blood.
