Product details
The recordings were made in April 2007 in the kitchen of an empty old apartment in Cologne. They come from the same interview and are part of the material from which 'A Summer That Remains' was edited. Before Peter Kurzeck told me about 'the village of his childhood,' I asked him about his current writing routine in his chosen home of Uzès, the small town in southern France where he had lived for many years without really speaking French. I inquired about the beginnings of his writing, writing under the influence of alcohol, his motivation to write and keep writing, his urge and compulsion to write, and about memory and transience. As long as one tells a story, one does not die. (Klaus Sander).
