Franz Josef Wanninger (Beppo Brem), now retired, is called upon by his colleagues to assist with particularly tricky cases when they find themselves at a dead end. He occasionally supports their investigations with his rather "strange methods."

Almost ten years after the conclusion of the 52 cases of "The Strange Methods of Franz Josef Wanninger," Beppo Brem returns as the "immortal" retired inspector. Also back are Maxl Graf as Commissioner Toni Fröschl and Wolf Ackva as Director Wilhelm Steiner, along with Claus Biederstaedt as Commissioner Heiner Kettwig.
