When Eragon discovers a shiny blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is a lucky find. It could help him and his family survive the winter with the food they could acquire from it. But when a dragon hatchling emerges from the stone, Eragon realizes that he has stumbled upon a legacy older than the kingdom itself: the legacy of the Dragon Riders.
