Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to finally start their own family and begin to explore the topic of adoption for the first time. Moved by the trusting eyes of children on an agency's website, they quickly agree that they want to give a child a new home. When they meet a trio of siblings, including the rebellious fifteen-year-old Lizzy (Isabela Moner), they are completely smitten. Overnight, Pete and Ellie, along with Lizzy and her sweet siblings Juan and Lita, become a real big family. Suddenly, the couple faces the challenge of mastering their new roles as foster parents to three children, always hoping to soon become a real family. A charming and touching story that shows us that life is unpredictable and unreasonable.
