From a small shoe factory to a global corporation – the story of the sneaker giants Adolf and Rudolf Dassler: After the two brothers initially built a small shoe factory together, World War II nearly brought shoe production to a standstill. After the war, shoe manufacturing slowly resumed, but the emerging business success was overshadowed by increasing disputes between the brothers, who uncompromisingly pursued their own business interests. In 1948, the original company was finally split: this marked the birth of the two global corporations Adidas and Puma.
