After the last tournament, peace and order have returned to Earth once again. However, for Son Goku, this is no reason to rest; he knows that there are still countless incredibly strong competitors across the various universes. So he trains diligently to continually push the limits of his power. One day, while Son Goku and Vegeta are helping Bulma search for the Dragon Balls, the evil Emperor Frieza appears on Earth with a mysterious Saiyan named Broly. But how can this be? After all, the remaining Saiyans were supposed to have been completely wiped out during Frieza's destruction of Planet Vegeta. There is no time to solve this mystery, as Broly immediately charges at Vegeta and Son Goku in a fit of rage. This marks the beginning of a new, fierce battle.
