Description
Mon Dieu, what horror! The residents of Orléans have been severely affected; the visitation in the form of the plague has come upon them, bringing suffering and misery to the population. There are many deaths to mourn, and the clergy can do little to counter this. Only the plague doctor can provide relief and hope to the suffering inhabitants, but ultimately everyone is on their own and must try to protect their followers as best as they can.

From the very beginning, the conditions are intensified by the plague cards. Sometimes there are fewer monks in play, sometimes no gears can be placed on location cards, or building offices must be paid for with an additional coin.

New events are now also associated with the corpse tokens, of which players must place a certain number in their bag at the end of each round. These are then drawn randomly at the beginning of each round and occupy valuable space in the marketplace, as they cannot be used for any action. To finally get rid of them, a player can fulfill indulgence cards through pilgrimages, donations, or other conditions, which also grant victory points at the end of the game. Fortunately, each player is assisted by a plague doctor, a new figure that is available in (almost) every round and is universally applicable.

The expansion is designed for up to 5 players and requires the base game Orléans. Orléans The Plague is the 3rd major expansion to the base game and will be released in a German/English edition at SPIEL 2023. Approximately 55 cards, a new tableau "Blessed Works," new events, and the new game figure "Plague Doctor" provide a completely new gaming experience.
