The little robot boy Rodney Copperbottom is actually just an ordinary boy from the neighborhood. However, to the astonishment of his parents, he has an unusual dream. He wants to meet his great idol, Big Weld, and become a brilliant inventor like him. Following this desire, he ventures into the wild metropolis of Robot City, where things are very different from what Rodney is used to. Here, the slick Ratchet has seized control of Big Weld Industries, and there is no sign of the actual company head, Big Weld - Rodney's idol. To find and save Big Weld, Rodney must face numerous adventures. For this, he needs not only a lot of courage and ingenuity but, above all, good friends.
