Deep down in the sea lives the little, spirited mermaid Ariel, who longs to live on land more than anything else. The world of humans seems to her like a distant, unattainable paradise. One day, she saves Prince Eric from drowning and falls hopelessly in love with him. Naively, she enters into a dubious deal with the scheming sea witch Ursula, despite the warnings of her loyal friends, the lovable Fabius and the reggae-singing crab Sebastian. Only if Ariel can win the prince's love will she be allowed to live among humans forever. But to do so, she must give up her voice.
