Year after year, summer guests come to Purity and take up residence in the impressive vacation homes by Maiden Pond, watched with suspicion by the locals who do not trust the wealthy city dwellers. When one day a girl from one of the vacationing families goes missing and shortly thereafter human remains are recovered from the lake, events in the small town escalate.
