A story about loneliness, faith, and the inevitability of change. Jon's ancestors feared the world. They longed for the presence of someone more powerful than the elements and nature. So they summoned various supernatural beings but found no support. Eventually, Światowid was born out of human need. He quickly became powerful and cruel.

Now, Jon's tribe has embraced the belief in the God of Good and turned away from the old deities. They are separated from them by a river, a forest, and – taboo – a boundary. Young Jon crosses the forbidden line and reaches the abandoned Światowid.

What will God demand from Jon? Where will the stone path lead him?

The book has been awarded by the Polish section of IBBY and recommended by the jury for the "Polityka" Pass, as well as nominated for the Silver Globe Fantasy Writers Award.

Dorota Terakowska writes books that are read by children, teenagers, and adults alike. Younger readers love the magical atmosphere, while older readers appreciate the effort the author has put into "inventing her own version of literature."
