While the brothers Damon and Stefano fight for Elena in the bloodiest way, she suffers a serious car accident and dies - at least that's what everyone in Fell s Church believes. But Elena lives - condemned as undead to a shadowy realm, after she has already drunk the blood of the two vampire brothers. Stefano accuses Damon of killing her so that he could finally possess her. But in fact, even in the realm of darkness Elena senses the danger of a foreign power, which has not only caused her death, but is a threat to all those who were once close to her! She implores Stefano and Damon to bury their enmity and fight together against the unknown, which seems to be much stronger than the vampires.

Finally, in a gripping showdown, the three reveal a centuries-old evil force behind which there is no one else but - vampire Catarina! And she has only one thing in mind: the destruction of her former lovers Stefano and Damon - and her rival, because of whom the vampire brothers no longer remember her properly. To save Stefano's life, Elena has to act. A deadly fight breaks out between her and Catarina.
