Product details
A story based on true events. Grisha is five years old when he is sent from Belarus to Auschwitz with his mother, grandmother, and siblings. A few months later, death takes his loved ones. The boy is left alone in a place where human life means nothing, and he remembers everything that happens in this hell on earth. He suffers from pneumonia and is a patient of Dr. Mengele twice, yet he manages to survive and witness the liberation. After the war, he wanders through various orphanages, searching for his place in the world. His experiences in the camp are so traumatic that he only decides in 1963 to share his story with the curator of the Auschwitz Museum. The boy who survived Auschwitz is a portrayal of the camp from the perspective of a small child who remembers things that some would rather forget.
