Der Handschuh

Content: On a snowy winter night, a warm wool glove offers refuge to some animals from the icy cold in the forest. It's quite cramped, yet time and again another guest asks for entry - joining the little mouse are a hare, a wild boar, and a bear. Eventually, they all fall asleep snuggled closely together. Then a small, shivering ant arrives. She doesn't want to wake anyone and tries to quietly slip into the glove unnoticed. Tiptoeing carefully, she places one tiny foot in front of the other. But the shelter is too full, and the fabric rips with a loud 'CRACK'. Just as the other animals are about to get angry, they hear the Christmas bells ringing in the distance, and instead of arguing and complaining, they celebrate Christmas together. Message: A children's musical about helpfulness, charity, and Christmas peace - suitable for elementary school, but also for very young children who can vividly empathize with the situation of the freezing animals on a cold winter night. Music and Text: The short musical is based on the traditional Ukrainian fairy tale of the glove in the snow. The piece can be realized with little effort both scenically and musically. The unison melodies and the repetitively returning song 'You don't fit in here anymore' are catchy and accompanied by an easily playable piano part. If no piano is available, playback tracks can also be used.
