Deep sand

After the disappearance of her mother, Nieke Dornieden turns to Chief Inspector John Benthien. Although he finds the young woman strange, he takes on the case. Shortly thereafter, Nieke's mother is found dead, and Benthien begins his investigation on Föhr. Many had reasons to wish harm upon the old lady, including Nieke herself. The past of the deceased also raises questions: her husband and her daughter from her first marriage have been missing for years; no one knows what happened to them. Benthien realizes that both cases are connected - and he uncovers a family secret and a truth that puts him in a dramatic situation.
