Twelve-year-old Tor has known his fate from the very beginning. An emblem on his arm shows that he is born to be a leader. However, during the annual New Year's celebration, he expresses his deepest wish – for a different destiny. This has fatal consequences: instead of his leader emblem, a dark eye appears on his skin. It is the curse of the Night Witch, which signifies Tor's certain and imminent death! Only the notorious witch herself can free Tor from the curse. So, he sets off with his friends Engle and Melda to search for her. But on their adventurous journey, other terrifying creatures await the children.
