Mamma Carlotta investigates an art theft. Mamma Carlotta's granddaughter Carolin is finally back in her parents' house, what a joy! However, her new role as a reporter, causing a stir on the island, leads to friction with her father Erik, who is the chief inspector of criminal investigations on Sylt. He is reluctant to reveal his cards, especially not when a body is found in the heath. But it is precisely his curious mother-in-law Carlotta who discovers that a missing painting seems to play a role. It's no coincidence that she knows everyone on the island.
