Barth:The humanity of God

Karl Barth (1886-1968), the great theologian and fearless advocate for a humane world, delivered an impressive lecture titled "The Humanity of God" at a conference in Aarau in 1956. Until then, Barth had made a name for himself by saying "No!" to the theology of his forefathers, which had failed to prevent the peoples of Europe and the world from waging war against each other twice. At that time, the divinity of God needed to be emphasized. In his lecture, Barth unfolds God's "Yes!" to humanity and thus the humanity and benevolence of God.
