Barbie as The Princess and the Village Girl

In this musical adventure, Barbie sings for the very first time in the roles of the blonde Princess Anneliese and the brunette Erika. Each girl longs for a different life—one that she can choose for herself. When they meet for the first time, they are initially startled, but then a wonderful friendship develops, and the girls are forever connected. A treacherous conspiracy threatens Princess Anneliese and her kingdom, but Erika risks her own life to save her new friend. Both girls have special friends who help them along the way, including Serafina, the pampered palace cat, and Wolfie, the cat who thinks he’s a dog. Queen Genevieve has arranged a marriage between Princess Anneliese and King Dominick so that his strong kingdom can support her weak one. However, her duplicitous advisor Preminger wants Princess Anneliese for himself and aims to rule the kingdom. Princess Anneliese, on the other hand, would prefer to marry her tutor Julian. When she is kidnapped by Preminger, Julian asks Erika to take on the role of the princess to keep the kingdom safe while he tries to find Anneliese. But playing a princess is more dangerous than Erika expected, especially when she finds herself falling for the handsome King Dominick.
