Asterix Conquers Rome

'Öme', 'öme', a whole 'Mee' full of 'öme'. This phrase, of course, does not appear in Asterix Conquers Rome. Instead of a "Mee' full of 'öme'", Asterix (voiced by Hans Hessling) and Obelix (voiced by Edgar Ott) must complete several tasks that Caesar (voiced by Siegfried Schürenberg) has imposed on the Gauls to finally disprove their reputation for invincibility. However, Caesar intends to step down if the Gauls succeed in all the trials. Thus, Asterix (equipped with an extra dose of magic potion by Miraculix) and Obelix set out under the watchful eyes of Gaius Pupus (voiced by Dieter Kursave) to pass the twelve trials. For Obelix, one of the requirements – having to eat everything served to him – is certainly not a difficult challenge, but rather a pleasure. The two must tackle a variety of tasks such as javelin throwing, marathon running, resisting sirens, and spending the night in the "Field of the Dead." The best sequence is when Gaius sends Asterix and Obelix into "The House That Drives You Crazy" to obtain a pass. The way they turn the tables and create chaos in the clumsy and inflexible bureaucracy is truly a sight to behold.
