The Others

1945: World War II is over, but Grace Stuart (Nicole Kidman) is still waiting for her husband's return. In her remote mansion, Grace raises her two children, Anne and Nicholas, according to strict religious principles. The shutters and curtains of the house are always closed, as the children suffer from a strange illness: they are allergic to light. One day, when the entire staff disappears without a word, Grace hires three new servants. When they disregard the mistress's most important rule, eerie events begin to unfold.

For the mystery thriller "The Others," which won eight Goya Awards, director and screenwriter Alejandro Amenábar received a BAFTA nomination for Best Original Screenplay in 2002. Oscar winner Nicole Kidman was nominated for a BAFTA and a Golden Globe for Best Actress in the same year. The film was primarily shot in Spain.
