Alone in the wilderness

Brian is twelve and on his way to his father when the pilot of the small plane he is traveling in dies of a heart attack. Brian miraculously survives the crash in the Canadian wilderness. To stay alive, Brian must teach himself everything necessary: he learns to make fire, build a shelter, and craft weapons. As he fends off bears and searches for food, not only does the young descendant of Robinson Crusoe change on the outside, but his values and attitudes also evolve.
