Alanson:Columbus Day

The first volume of the legendary Ex-Force series. The Ruhar attacked us on Columbus Day. We were drifting through the cosmos on our little blue marble—naive, like the American natives in 1492. Then, spaceships of a technologically superior species appeared on the horizon. And bam, the good old days were over. Those days when we humans only killed each other. So, Columbus Day—fitting. The next morning, the sky sparkled again, this time with the ships of the Kristang, who had come to blast the Ruhar away. We promptly thought we were saved. It was decided that the UN Expeditionary Force should support the Kristang in their fight against the Ruhar. I left my post with the US Army in Nigeria to fight in space from then on. Not exactly a fair fight. Because unfortunately, all our information was lies—nothing but lies. The biggest mistake was to fight against the Ruhar at all. Because they are not our enemy, but our allies.
