His enthusiasm is tireless. The organist, philosopher and theologian Albert Schweitzer spent over forty years caring for the dying in Lambarene, healing wounds, but also building shelters and repairing pumps. He corresponded with Einstein, Nehru and Heuss, warned the world about atomic bombs and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952. Even during his lifetime, he became a myth and a symbol of charity.
