Adventure Classical Music: Vivaldi

On March 4, 1678, an earthquake shook Venice, and high sea waves crashed against the walls of the magnificent buildings. On this day, one of Italy's most famous composers was born: Antonio Lucio Vivaldi. He grew up in one of the most fascinating cities in the world and experienced fistfights among Venetians, jugglers, and acrobats in Piazza San Marco, as well as the colorful carnival. Cosima Breidenstein narrates with exciting details about the events of the time and the atmosphere of Venice, performing excerpts from Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" with an orchestra. This is an unusual portrait of the composer, filled with interesting and amusing anecdotes. In between the narration, we hear Cosima Breidenstein with the child-friendly shortened version of the "Four Seasons," accompanied by the Sinfonietta Köln under the direction of Cornelius Frowein.
