Product details

Design a clock, timer, or counter into your next project using our pretty 4-digit seven-segment display. These bright, crisp displays are great for adding numeric output. In addition to the four 7-segments, there are decimal points on each digit and an extra wire for colon-dots in the center, which is useful for time-based projects.

These displays are ultra bright at 150 mcd! You can drive them with less current to achieve the same brightness and save power, or increase the current to 20 mA for maximum brightness.

These displays are multiplexed, common-cathode. This means you can use a 74HC595 or just 8 microcontroller pins, if available, to control the 8 anodes (7-seg plus decimal) at about 15 mA each. You can then connect NPN transistors to the cathodes to sink a maximum of approximately 120 mA per digit.
