Patience (Isabelle Huppert) is self-confident, independent, and above all, quick-witted. The only area where she struggles is her finances. As an interpreter in the drug squad, she translates intercepted phone calls from the drug scene and is grossly underpaid for it. When her mother's expensive nursing home threatens to evict her due to unpaid bills, Patience finds herself under pressure to act. By coincidence, a drug shipment is on its way to Paris. Patience spontaneously decides to abandon honesty and sabotages the drug seizure. Taking matters into her own hands, she searches for the high-quality hash and strikes gold. Patience eagerly gets to work and shows her best side: as a talented saleswoman, she shakes up the Parisian drug market to the maximum.
