"300" is the relentless film adaptation of the historic battle at Thermopylae: In ancient Greece, King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) died fighting alongside 300 Spartans against Xerxes and his gigantic Persian army. Their courage and willingness to sacrifice in the face of an impossible situation inspired the Greek tribes to unite against the Persians – thus creating a fundamental cell of democracy.

"300" is based on the graphic novel of the same name by "Sin City" author Frank Miller. In this epic adventure, themes of passion, bravery, the desire for freedom, and self-sacrifice are embodied by the Spartans, who proved themselves in one of the most famous battles in history.

Directed by co-writer Zack Snyder ("Dawn of the Dead"), the film adaptation of Miller's famous graphic novel combines live-action elements with virtual scenery, giving the ancient tableau a distinctive look.

This new chapter of the epic "300 saga" delivers pure action on the sea, where Greek general Themistocles must defend against the approaching Persian forces led by Xerxes and commander Artemisia.
