I didn't buy the device for myself.
As far as I have seen, you can set the kwh/price and as long as the device is plugged in and a consumer is connected, the device records. I'm not sure whether several recordings can be made, but apparently you can reset after a measurement.

I haven't had the appliance for long, but I don't think 3 months should be a problem. You can see the consumption in Kw/h as well as in CHF or €.
