Question about Bark Mulch

I just bought is and didn't use it yet. It's of a very dark brown. But what's very special about it ist that it'a a mix of almost earth-like & pretty humid material containing pieces of wood of up to 6cm or more in length (width is maybe 1cm). So it's totally different from what you buy in Migros or Coop. If you use it for gardening I guess it's ok. Not so good for animal hutches I suppose.
