Preliminary work:
Bare iron metals: Sand very smooth surfaces, remove grinding dust, and clean the surface carefully with Hammerite metal cleaner.
Rusty iron metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush and clean the surface with Hammerite metal cleaner.
Cast iron: Remove any loose particles, grind, and clean with Hammerite metal cleaner. Apply one coat of Hammerite Rust Blocker as an adhesion promoter.
Tip: The hammer blow effect develops best when the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly, allowing time for the effect to develop. Repeated reworking or distribution of the paint may result in a lesser extent of the hammer blow effect. Hammer-blow lacquers can only be reworked with hammer-blow lacquers; using other systems may lead to adhesion or surface defects.
