The cushion yew, botanically known as Taxus baccata 'Repandens', is an evergreen, low-growing coniferous plant with a broad, cushion-like habit. It reaches a height of just 0.5 metres and a width of up to 2 metres in diameter. This makes it ideal as a ground cover, for grave plantings or as a flat hedge plant.
Its dark green, soft needles remain intact all year round and provide long-lasting greenery. The plant is very hardy, grows in sun and shade and is easy to care for.
Caution: The leaves and bark of the yew should not be eaten. However, the seeds of the berries and the taxine they contain are particularly dangerous and can lead to severe symptoms of poisoning if chewed. Unlike the other parts of the plant, the flesh of the berries is not poisonous.
Note: Please note that the plant may look different from the pictures depending on the vegetation cycle.
