The oval-leaved privet 'Aureum', botanically known as Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum', is an evergreen, hardy garden plant that is well-suited for sunny to partially shaded locations and can reach a height of up to 2.5 meters.

In June, the 'Aureum' produces its cream-white flowers. The plant is well-suited for pruning, which is why it is often used in hedges.

Caution: The leaves, bark, and especially the berries of the common privet contain saponins, which can be toxic if ingested. The effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
