The common lilac, botanically known as Syringa vulgaris 'Charles Joly', is an elegant lilac variety that can reach a height of around 4 metres. This variety is characterised by its highly fragrant flowers, which fill the garden with an intense, sweet scent in May - a real highlight in spring.
