The Chinese reed 'Malepartus', botanically known as Miscanthus sinensis 'Malepartus', is an impressive garden plant that reaches a height of around 1.7 metres. Its flowers appear in a red-silvery colour and the flowering period lasts from August to October.
A particular highlight of the Chinese reed 'Malepartus' is its yellow autumn colouring, which provides a wonderful colour change in the cooler months. Like all Miscanthus varieties, 'Malepartus' is also hardy and can easily withstand cold temperatures.
