PTC thermistor tripping device MS 220 KA is a motor protection device designed to protect electrical equipment with built-in PTC thermistor sensors against excess temperatures. It is suitable for direct monitoring of explosion-proof motors of ignition protection type Ex e and Ex d in gas explosion hazardous areas (zones 1 and 2) and in areas with combustible dust (zones 21 and 22).

Equipment features include an input for 1 to 6 PTC thermistors according to DIN 44081/44082, short-circuit monitoring in the sensor circuit, ATEX approval according to Directive 94/9/EC, UL recognized component, and an automatic reset output relay with 1 changeover contact.
