Yucca

The Yucca, also known as the palm lily, initially resembles a palm tree with its dense, dark green leaf rosettes and brown trunk. However, botanically, it belongs to the agave family. The trunk of the Yucca 'Maya Tree' is thicker than that of other plants of its kind and resembles the trunk of a Beaucarnea.

The palm lily 'Maya Tree' gets its name from its native regions of Guatemala and Mexico, where the Mayans once lived. These plants held great significance for the indigenous peoples of the Americas.

The Yucca is incredibly robust and easy to care for. It's no wonder that it ranks among the most popular houseplants in this country. The Yucca requires only moderate water and fertilizer.

The palm lily enjoys spending the summer months outdoors and enters a resting phase indoors during the winter months. However, it can also be kept as a houseplant year-round. In that case, a bright, warm, but airy location should be chosen.
