Securely Fixing the Sun Sail

A tear-resistant rope ensures a stable connection between sun sails and their attachment elements, such as a sun sail pole or a wall eyelet. The rope allows for an individual distance to be set for tensioning.

The Material

The cord made of weather-resistant PP is lightweight yet robust, making it ideal for outdoor applications. It can be easily tied or knotted and shortened to the desired length.

Attaching a Sun Sail

The attachment options for sun sails are as diverse as the gardens and terraces they provide shade for. A fundamental requirement is that the sun sail is anchored at all corners. This is done using anchoring elements such as a sun sail pole, a wall eyelet, eye screws for posts, and similar items. With the help of connecting elements (rope, D-shackles, carabiners, tension anchors, tension straps, tension springs), the sun sail is hung onto the anchoring element. To make it as convenient as possible to attach and tension your sun sail, there is a wide range of sun protection accessories available.

It is important to keep in mind the necessary slope of at least 15° from the outset and to install the initial attachments high enough. The 15° slope (approximately 15 cm per meter) ensures that rainwater does not accumulate on the sail but can run off. Rainwater that collects on the sun sail not only makes it heavier and increases the overall load on the attachment but can, in extreme cases, also lead to deformation of the fabric that cannot be corrected by re-tensioning it more tightly. With the right attachment, sun sails are very wind-stable. Nevertheless, it is advisable to remove the sail during severe weather, thunderstorms, heavy rain, or storms.
