Wiltec Warning sign

This reflective warning sign in 50 x 50 cm is used to mark protruding loads on camping vehicles, bike racks, trailers, caravans, boat trailers, car bike racks and other extending attachments.

The 500 x 500 mm warning sign is mandatory in Italy and Spain for loads that protrude or overhang to the rear and must be clearly visible.

In SPAIN, the warning sign must have

• have 3 red and 3 white hatched reflective stripes,
• have a size of 50 x 50 cm,
• be made of aluminium,
• have 4 punched fixing lugs.

In ITALY, the warning sign must have

• have 5 red and 4 white hatched reflective stripes,
• have a size of 50 x 50 cm,
• be made of aluminium,
• have 4 punched fixing lugs.

The warning sign must be fitted, for example, if

• a rear bicycle carrier (with/without load) is fitted, even when folded;
• an object (surfboard, etc.) is being transported on the roof rack and this protrudes over the rear bumper;
• a load protrudes beyond the overall length of the vehicle (note the entry in the vehicle licence) at the rear (no protrusion at the front is permitted).

In such cases, the law stipulates that "all appropriate safety measures must be taken to ensure that other road users are not put at risk" - meaning that labelling is always mandatory.

Why this warning sign?
This warning sign is suitable for BOTH countries. You can simply "change" the country by turning the warning sign so that you do not have to keep two warning signs.
