The VARITECTOR surge protection devices of series VPU PV I (Type I) and VPU PV II (Type II) effectively protect photovoltaic systems and their components from interference caused by lightning and overvoltages, even well below the limits set by the insulation coordination according to EN 60664-3 / DIN VDE 0110-3. This safeguards the infrastructure as well as inverter systems from overvoltage and increases system availability. The surge protectors are tested according to the product standard IEC 50539-11 / DIN EN 50539-11 and can be installed in systems according to the application standard IEC 50539-12 / DIN EN 50539-12 as well as in accordance with IEC 60364-7-712 for the installation of photovoltaic supply systems.
