In the terminal block form, gas discharge tubes (GDT) are used. They are approved for a maximum DC voltage, which is printed on the component. Any voltage exceeding the specified value will be safely diverted in approximately 10-100 µs. Gas discharge tubes are used for higher power applications. Special feature: distribution cabinet.
